The Mission

On the Salt™ is a 501(c)3 that educates and brings awareness to biopurifiers, specifically shellfish, that clean our coastal waters naturally as filter feeders.

We collaborate with artists to create limited-edition art that celebrate all things shellfish and coastal life.

Why Oysters?

There are many "clean the water" initiatives out there. This one focuses on using nature to heal nature.

Oysters and other shellfish are filter feeders and remove nitrogen from our water. In fact, a single adult oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day.

Clams are powerhouses - just look at their effect in Florida. Across to the other shining sea, learn more about these mussels flexing in California.

So still pick up your trash at the beach so that it doesn't end up in the water, and also wear On the Salt™ apparel and purchase our limited edition art.
